Mynaa

Awesome movie

A very decent movie with lot of turning points.

As a whole the movie is good. But has lot of flaws with many scenes.

The lead female actor's (Amala) mom addresses the lead actor (Vidharth) as "marumagan" meaning son-in-law from the day he helped her and her daughter. But why is she not willing to get her daughter married to him ? I feel this is the first flaw.

Vidharth was hand cuffed with the sub inspector till the restaurant scene, which I don't think is not practical. The bus accident scene was not appealing. But it was needed to create the bond between Vidharth, ins and sub-ins.

The movie should have had a positive end. Just to have a negative climax, the climax is messed up.

On reaching Peria Kulam, sub-ins should have taken Amala with him and should have ended it positively.

After Amala suicided (she should not have done this ! I don't understand why she suicided), Vidharth also ended his life. After this, the ins kills his wife and her brothers, father (What the heck !!! The scene well shows  how anger can turn down any person).

The ins's wife should be rational. Atleast for being a police personnel's wife, she should have understood him atleast a little. The inspector character is very good. He showed the right emotions. The sub ins, as the experience speaks, really showed maturity for his experience in the field.

Overall the movie is worth watching.

A good job from Prabhu Soloman.

Growing Good Corn

Another nice article from an office mail :

There was a Nebraska farmer who grew award-winning corn. Each year he entered his corn in the state fair where it won a blue ribbonhttp://kona.kontera.com/javascript/lib/imgs/grey_loader.gif
...
One year a newspaper reporter interviewed him and learned something interesting about how he grew it. The reporter discovered that the farmer shared his seed corn with his neighbors. "How can you afford to share your best seed corn with your neighbors when they are entering corn in competition with yours each year?" the reporter asked.

"Why sir," said the farmer, "didn't you know? The wind picks up pollen from the ripening corn and swirls it from field to field. If my neighbors grow inferior corn, cross-pollination will steadily degrade the quality of my corn. If I am to grow good corn, I must help my neighbors grow good corn."

He is very much aware of the connectedness of life. His corn cannot improve unless his neighbor's corn also improves.

So it is in other dimensions. Those who choose to be at peace must help their neighbors to be at peace. Those who choose to live well must help others to live well, for the value of a life is measured by the lives it touches. And those who choose to be happy must help others to find happiness for the welfare of each is bound up with the welfare of all.

If we are to grow good corn, we must help our neighbors grow good corn.

Love and Time

Another wonderful article got in an office mail :

Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others, including Love. One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all constructed boats and left. Except for Love. Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment. When the island had almost sunk, Love decided to ask for help.
Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said, “Richness, can you take me with you?”Richness answered, “No, I can’t. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you.”Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel. “Vanity, please help me!”
“I can’t help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat,” Vanity answered. Sadness was close by so Love asked, “Sadness, let me go with you.”
“Oh . . . Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!”

Happiness passed by Love, too, but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her.

Suddenly, there was a voice, “Come, Love, I will take you.” It was an elder. So blessed and overjoyed, Love even forgot to ask the elder where they were going. When they arrived at dry land, the elder went her own way. Realizing how much was owed the elder, Love asked Knowledge, another elder, “Who Helped me?”
“It was Time,” Knowledge answered.
“Time?” asked Love. “But why did Time help me?”
Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered, “Because only Time is capable of understanding how valuable Love is.”

Bad Temper

This is a nice article I came across in a mail at office :

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence. The first day, the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.

Finally the day came when the boy didn’t lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, “You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. “

When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won’t matter how many times you say I’m sorry the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.”

Lecturers at college

It is been quite a while to write a blog.

Well, it is 12.30 am 20th Dec, Monday. Just reading "five point someone". While reading just thought of writing a blog listing all the lecturers I could recollect now.

1. My HOD. Aww, what is the name ? I forgot. Friends : if you can give the name I would post it here :-)
2. My Tutor. Christie mam. I indeed respect her a lot. She always cared a lot for me personally about my health. I still remember those meetings where she stressed on health.
3. Manoharan sir :-) One of the lecturers I respect for his attitude rather than anything else. The first subject he handled for us is Electro Magnetic Fields. A lovely subject it should be. I never mastered it. But I love the concept of electro magnetics.
4. Radhika madam. She handled Mathematics in first semester. She is one of those I would want to meet when I go college anytime if possible.
5. Lalithambigai mam. She handled C Programming in first semester. She indeed had a lot of info on C language. She taught well. But I got only 7-C. My worst rating ever, meaning I scored only 60 to 69. Hmmm. I am yet to master C :-)
6. Communications skill mam : Again I forgot the name. Friends : Your help needed again :-)
7. Kesavamurthy sir : He did not handle any subject I think. But still he is one of those I cannot forget.
8. Ramanathan sir : A very hard working sir. I love the way he handles and controls his class.
9. Sivaraj sir. Another hard working lecturer.
10. Rajalakshmi mam. She handled VLSI in third sem i think.
11. Engineering graphics sir. I forgot his name. He really was a geek in that subject. I scored 10 S (90 to 100) in this subject. I love this sub.
12. Krishnaveni mam. She handled "Signals and Systems" and "DSP".
13. Faculties from Mathematics department. I could not recollect even one of the names.

I am not getting anymore name. I do remember the subjects rather.

If anyone is going through this blog, help me in recollecting all our lecture names :-)

DREAM INDIA

India - a symbol of corruption ? a symbol of bribery ? a symbol of illiteracy? a symbol of in-justice to the poor ? a symbol of "Rich get richer, poor get poorer" ? a country filled with beggars ? a nation rich of hospitals ?

What is the root cause of all these ? Improper governance. Poor administrators. Corrupt administrators. Irresponsible citizens. Fraudulent, dishonest, selfish, incapable, untruthful politicians. Unfair policies.

WHY WHY WHY ???

Can't this country be ideal. Most of saints have originated in this land. None can boast of their culture as ours. Though, why are we a developing nation still from independence ? If you stay honest, then you are called a clown in this country. I promise if I stay honest with the present situation, I cannot survive. Who has driven this country to such a pathetic situation ?

I want my country to be free of corrupt, free of in-justice. Why do people hoard money for their upcoming 10 generations. Why does a person need 5 cars lined up in his home when there are thousands of people who sleep on platform. Why does a person need to have his food in five star hotels when there are tens of thousands who cannot afford a hygienic food twice a day.

I want to change everything. I want justice for everyone. Only if communist countries can be like this, why can't we follow communist ? I am ready to sacrifice my pleasures for the needy. But are others like that? What can a single person do in this country. I will end in vain increasing the beggar list of the country by one.

I want a political party who is working selflessly and only for the improvement of the country. I don't want this to go this off as a dream. A journey of thousand miles starts with a single step. I am ready to take that single. I need people to come along with me.

I am not writing this particular blog for time pass. This is from my heart. I just want justice to everyone and that is possible only through sacrifice, selflessness, We have seen lot of movies depicting what will happen if you fall into politics. Either you will corrupted or you will die for nothing. I don’t want to become a victim of either of these types. Can anyone tell me one honest politician ? If so is he still in India !!!

Closing this blog with dissatisfaction of Indian administration !!!

Nice mail forward - worth reading

Once there was an old man who lived in a tiny village. Although poor, he was envied by all, for he owned a beautiful white horse. Even the king coveted his treasure. A horse like this had never been seen before-such was its splendor, its majesty, its strength.

People offered fabulous prices for the steed, but the old man always refused. "This horse is not a horse to me," he would tell them. "It is a person. How could you sell a person? He is a friend, not a possession. How could you sell a friend?" The man was poor and the temptation was great. But he never sold the horse.

One morning he found that the horse was not in the stable. All the village came to see him. "You old fool," they scoffed, "we told you that someone would steal your horse. We warned you that you would be robbed. You are so poor. How could you ever hope to protect such a valuable animal? It would have been better to have sold him. You could have gotten whatever price you wanted. No amount would have been too high. Now the horse is gone, and you've been cursed with misfortune." The old man responded, "Don't speak too quickly. Say only that the horse is not in the stable. That is all we know; the rest is judgment. If I've been cursed or not, how can you know? How can you judge?" The people contested, "Don't make us out to be fools! We may not be philosophers, but great philosophy is not needed. The simple fact that your horse is gone is a curse."

The old man spoke again. "All I know is that the stable is empty, and the horse is gone. The rest I don't know. Whether it be a curse or a blessing, I can't say. All we can see is a fragment. Who can say what will come next?"

The people of the village laughed. They thought that the man was crazy. They had always thought he was a fool; if he wasn't, he would have sold the horse and lived off the money. But instead, he was a poor woodcutter, an old man still cutting firewood and dragging it out of the forest and selling it. He lived hand to mouth in the misery of poverty. Now he had proven that he was, indeed, a fool.

After fifteen days, the horse returned. He hadn't been stolen; he had run away into the forest. Not only had he returned, he had brought a dozen wild horses with him. Once again the village people gathered around the woodcutter and spoke. "Old man, you were right and we were wrong. What we thought was a curse was a blessing. Please forgive us."The man responded, "Once again, you go too far. Say only that the horse is back. State only that a dozen horses returned with him, but don't judge. How do you know if this is a blessing or not? You see only a fragment. Unless you know the whole story, how can you judge?

You read only one page of a book. Can you judge the whole book? You read only one word of a phrase. Can you understand the entire phrase? "Life is so vast, yet you judge all of life with one page or one word. All you have is a fragment! Don't say that this is a blessing. No one knows. I am content with what I know. I am not perturbed by what I don't."

"Maybe the old man is right," they said to one another. So they said little. But down deep, they knew he was wrong. They knew it was a blessing. Twelve wild horses had returned with one horse. With a little bit of work, the animals could be broken and trained and sold for much money.

The old man had a son, an only son. The young man began to break the wild horses. After a few days, he fell from one of the horses and broke both legs. Once again the villagers gathered around the old man and cast their judgments.

"You were right," they said. "You proved you were right. The dozen horses were not a blessing. They were a curse. Your only son has broken his legs, and now in your old age you have no one to help you. Now you are poorer than ever."

The old man spoke again. "You people are obsessed with judging. Don't go so far. Say only that my son broke his legs. Who knows if it is a blessing or a curse? No one knows. We only have a fragment. Life comes in fragments."

It so happened that a few weeks later the country engaged in war against a neighboring country. All the young men of the village were required to join the army. Only the son of the old man was excluded, because he was injured. Once again the people gathered around the old man, crying and screaming because their sons had been taken. There was little chance that they would return. The enemy was strong, and the war would be a losing struggle. They would never see their sons again.

"You were right, old man," they wept. "God knows you were right. This proves it. Your son's accident was a blessing. His legs may be broken, but at least he is with you. Our sons are gone forever."

The old man spoke again. "It is impossible to talk with you. You always draw conclusions. No one knows. Say only this: Your sons had to go to war, and mine did not. No one knows if it is a blessing or a curse. No one is wise enough to know. Only God knows."

The old man was right. We only have a fragment. Life's mishaps and horrors are only a page out of a grand book. We must be slow about drawing conclusions. We must reserve judgment on life's storms until we know the whole story.

"Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself."

Why should the wedding ring be worn on the fourth finger?

I got this in a mail !!!

There is a beautiful and convincing explanation given by someone …

Thumb represents your Parents

Second (Index) finger represents your Siblings

Middle finger represents your-Self

Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner

& the Last (Little) finger represents your children

Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together – back to back

Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb – tip to tip

(As shown in the figure below):

Now, try to separate your thumbs (representing the parents)…, they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong, and have to leave you sooner or later.

Please join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings)…., they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives.

Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children)…., they will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day.

Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers (representing your spouse).

You will be surprised to see that you just CANNOT….., because Husband & Wife have to remain together all their lives – through thick and thin!!

Please try this out………….

ISN’T THIS A LOVELY THEORY?

The possibilities are numerous once we decide to act and not react

1. When you face a setback, think of it as a defining moment that will lead to a future accomplishment.

2. When you encounter adversity, remember, the best don’t just face adversity; they embrace it, knowing it’s not a dead end but a detour to something greater and better.

3. When you face negative people, know that the key to life is to stay positive in the face of negativity, not in the absence of it. After all, everyone will have to overcome negativity to define themselves and create their success.

4. When you face the naysayer’s, remember the people who believed in you and spoke positive words to you.

5. When you face critics, remember to tune them out and focus only on being the best you can be.

6. When you wake up in the morning, take a morning walk of gratitude and prayer. It will create a fertile mind ready for success.

7. When you fear, trust. Let your faith be greater than your doubt.

8. When you fail, find the lesson in it, and then recall a time when you have succeeded.

9. When you head into battle, visualize success.

10. When you are thinking about the past or worrying about the future, instead focus your energy on the present moment. The now is where your power is the greatest.

11. When you want to complain, instead identify a solution.

12. When your own self-doubt crowds your mind, weed it and replace it with positive thoughts and positive self-talk.

13. When you feel distracted, focus on your breathing, observe your surroundings, clear your mind, and get into The Zone. The Zone is not a random event. It can be created.

14. When you feel all is impossible, know that with God all things are possible.

15. When you feel alone, think of all the people who have helped you along the way and who love and support you now.

16. When you feel lost, pray for guidance.

17. When you are tired and drained, remember to never, never, never give up. Finish Strong in everything you do.

18. When you feel like you can’t do it, know that you can do all things through Him who gives you strength.

19. When you feel like your situation is beyond your control, pray and surrender. Focus on what you can control and let go of what you can’t.

20. When you’re in a high-pressure situation and the game is on the line, and everyone is watching you, remember to smile, have fun, and enjoy it. Life is short; you only live once. You have nothing to lose. Seize the moment.

This is a mail I got in Deloitte which is simply stating the best ways to follow. I love it.
In Deloitte on goal setting we are told that the goals should be SMART !

S     Short
M    Measurable
   Achievable
    Realistic
    Time bound

Hope the goals I set are SMART :-)
Life is all in our hands. It's the attitude and the mindset which is riding our day to day life. If you think you can manage a situation then you will manage the situation somehow. Thats the power of thinking. To maintain any relationship three things are very important. They are

tolerance

adjustment

sacrifice

I wrote these sometime back somewhere and now I wonder "Did I write these" ? One thing which is confirmed now is mind is not constant. As you all know mind is nothing but bundle of thoughts. So at the time when I was writing these I must have been in a great mood ! Anyhow on reading these I get more confidence :-)

Movies I have watched so far in my stay in Hyderabad !!!

The following is the list of movies I have watched so far during my stay in Hyderabad.

1. Oye (Telugu movie) - not bad (Baby shalini has become aunty shalini :-) )

2. Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince.

3. Inglorious basterds.

4. A Christmas Carol.

5. Vettaikaran (Tamil - worst of all).

6. Blue (Hindi movie)

7. Kaminey (Hindi)

8. Avatar (Once in Talkie town and the second time in i-nox )

9. 3 idiots

Thats all coming to my mind as of now. Will update if any in the fore coming blogs.

My today's food !!!

I prepared curry (korma in tamil)for the first time with the guidance of sister and aunt. Let me tell you how i made it :-)

Ingredients :-

Coconut, tomato, potato, beans, carrot, chilly powder, coriander powder, Fennel seeds (sombu in tamil) , onion, salt, oil.

First fry a little of fennel seeds in frying pan without oil. Keep it aside. Now put some oil in pan and fry tomato and chopped onion. Cool these a little by keeping in open space for some time.

Grind coconut (as needed depending on the number of persons to be served) with fried soombu. Add a little of water and grind well. For grinding you can use mixer ! Now put fried tomato and onion, add a spoon of chilly powder and two spoons of coriander powder and grind well again. You will get a good paste now.

Meanwhile cut carrot, beans and potato as the shape you need and boil them in a vessel. After the vegetables are baked, filter the water and add this water to the paste we have prepared. Boil this mixture till it fumes. Now add baked vegetables and add salt to taste.

That's it :-) Try and enjoy the dish. It came up superb to me to my amazement !!!

Humour

HUMOUR

Laughter is the best medicine.

When you laugh, all kinds of wonderful things happen to benefit your body and mind. Endorphins are released in your brain which give you a "natural high."

Laughter relieves pain. You can only laugh when you are relaxed and the more relaxed you are, the less pain you feel. Funny books and movies are ideal pain relievers.

We often get sick by taking ourselves and life too seriously. What we need to do is laugh to help us stay healthy.

Let us assume that you are suffering losses in business and at the same time going through a bad phase in your married life.

If all this is going on, why make things worse by being unhappy as well?

To be a winner, one should have the ability to laugh at difficulties. One person, involved in the above situation, would resist laughing for two years. Another may decide that after two weeks it is time to stop crying and start laughing. Therefore, the first person gets to stay miserable for much longer than the second one. And he chose to.

One of our major responsibilities towards others is to enjoy ourselves! When we are having fun, we feel better, work better and people want to be around us.

From the book, "Be a Winner."

FORGIVENESS

FORGIVENESS

Tom says, "I can't forgive Jerry for lying to me."

Tom believes that if he can't forgive Jerry, it is Jerry's problem.

THIS IS NOT JERRY'S PROBLEM. THIS IS TOM'S PROBLEM.

When we don't forgive, we suffer. The person we consider 'guilty' is not bothered and we unncessarily put ourselves through so much mental anguish.

Some people never forgive their parents and ruin their lives just to prove to their parents what bad parents they are. Their message is, "It is your fault that I am unsuccessful and lonely and now you can watch me suffer".

They believe that by ruining their lives they are actually punishing their parents. Our parents brought us up the best way they knew. To blame them for a bad job of parenting is fruitless and destructive.

What is done is done. Get over it and move on.

The same goes for blaming other people. Do not hold grudges and harbour resentment.

FORGIVE AND FORGET.

Don't be a garbage collector. Throw out the thrash!

When someone harms you unintentionally then forgive and forget but if someone cheats you then forgive but don't forget their name.

You cheat me once, shame on you.
You cheat me twice, shame on me.

From the book "Be a Winner"

Discipline

DISCIPLINE

Winners know the value of discipline. Anyone who has accomplished something has never done it without discipline, whether in business, sports or academics.

Being disciplined means being committed. Everyone has dreams but not everyone is committed to fulfilling their dreams. Discipline requires total commitment and sacrifice. It means self-control and staying focussed.

Some people interpret lack of discipline as freedom. They interpret this freedom as 'I don't care' attitude which not only harms them but this attitude is also against the interest of the society. A youngster's interpretation of freedom can be driving rashly without following the laws in which there is the possibility of not only his getting hurt but also hurting innocent road crossers.

Children brought up with excessive freedom and lack of discipline grow up becoming law-breaking adults.

Republic Ride

This is the first Republic Day after my school life on which I woke up too early. It is for the cycling event "Republic Ride" organised by Atlanta, a foundation for providing education to needy. The registration fee is 2k for everyone. The event is for a number of firms. Some of the firms other than Deloitte include TCS, CTS, Infosys, GE, Franklin Templeton, Aliens Group.

I woke up by 4 30 am, but went to bed only above 1 am :) Was reading "Three mistakes of my life" by Chetan Bhagat. It was the climax part of the book. I couldn't sleep without completing it. The book was good.

I am supposed to get a bicycle on my own as i couldn't register for the event when the mailer for registration came. So on Jan 26th morning, i had to go to Madhapur to get Sriram's cycle. Got cycle from him disturbing his sleep at 5 am. My goodness. There was no time for me that i could not ensure that the pressure in the wheels are good. So, it was a bad start. From Madhapur i need to go to Novotel which is the starting point of cycling event. Approximately 5 km travel with his cycle. Almost exhausted by that time itself :) There were three categories : 10 km, 50 km and 100 km. I had a plan to participate in 100 km. Since many cycles were available there, i thought of taking one. Another bad decision : Selected a cycle which was too small. 100 k event is supposed to start by 6 am. As it got delayed in distributing T shirt, i started only by 7 15 or so. Enough protection was given for riders. Police were standing clearing traffic. Felt like VIP :) As a mark of poor organisation, we were directed to a wrong path by a volunteer because of which i traveled an extra 4 km unnecessarily. A number of Rest stations are planted at irregular intervals, providing refreshments :) Reached Rest station 1. Met Manohar, my collegue.

On the way to Rest station 2, my brand new cycle tube got punctured. I had to put it in the help vehicle. Reached Rest station 2. A colleague of mine in MOSS team was about to give up, as he was very tired. So took his bicycle. On the way from Rest station 2, i got the first muscular cramp when i tried to climb up an uphill road, which is the worst of all three spasms. I couldn't stand because of the pain. I had to lie down on the ground leaving the bicycle. Manohar came for rescue. He tried to relax thigh muscles. Organizer camera team came. One of the guys there provided first aid to me. They took photos of that :( Bad boys :)

In the middle of the paths i had two more spasms, but during the second time i simply managed myself, relaxing and walking for some time. Manohar went ahead. So i had no other option. Resorted to "Self Help is the best help". Started alone after relaxing for some time. Had 3rd spasm after some time. After this third spasm i decided not to stress anymore. So started to ride as slow as possible. There was this guy named Vikram from CTS, standing near a cycle repair shop. I stopped on seeing him. He told his cycle tube got punctured. There was no one in the shop to help him. But the required tools were all there. I decided to fix the puncture. Yeah i did it for the first time in my life :) After fixing, we both started together having a good talk. It is just another 7 km to finish. His cycle tyre got punctured again. No way this time. He had to resort to the help of help vehicle. He went along with it. I am determined to finish it completely. So i started alone again. After all uphill roads Hyderabad being a plateau, i made it :) But the time was 2 15 pm. I covered 50 km in 7 hours :) Some covered 100 km in the same time :)

In this travel of 50 km, I had three nimbooz, 3 Red bull, 6 bananas :) Even then i was very tired. I am provided the certificate on completion of 50 km. Even though i did not feel that hungry, i decided i should have food in the 7 star hotel :) All i had is fruit salad, a stuffed rotti, one nimbooz. It was awesome but :) Met another colleague who completed 10 km. Met college senior Allvin and his senior. Allvin is from TCS and the other one from Deloitte(forgot his name :) ). On the whole it was a superb day with a mix of feelings : joy, pain, exhaustion, briskness :) This is how Republic Ride went :) Good experience :)

23rd Sat, 2010 - a good day

Today is a remarkable day to me, being the first day I provided weekend support to my team. I am supposed to work from 5.30 am to 2.30 pm (weird timings !!!) from home.

Woke up at 6 :) and opened the laptop. I was so busy that i had no time to brush teeth at the right time. Didn't drink or eat anything till 2.30 pm :) Was simply working because doing something is always better than doing nothing. Had food around 4 pm, till then was watching "pudhu kotaiyilirinthu saravanan" in sun tv. Power went off signalling me to atleast clean the room today. But didn't clean it yet :) Instead in the pleasant evening started watching "Aayirathil oruvan". Unfortunately i dont have the complete movie. So planned to watch "2012". Wow :) Movie was simply superb. Awesome scenes. Kudos to the technology. Scenes were very realistic. It has a good concept. Imagine that earth's crust to going to dismantle owing to emission of radiations from sun. Then everyone thinks about the ultimate truth of life : Affection, care, love. Thats all everyone yearns for. Movie's baseline is so good that it should have kindled the hidden love in hard-hearted fellows :)

After the movie, i thought of talking to chennai akka. Left home for a walk besides talking to akka. Had a nice walk and talk :) Returned home after an hour and watched "Transporter 3" in Star Movies. It is a very good action movie, with each stunt encouraging to build your body like the lead actor Jason Statham's. Prepared rotti and had dinner after the movie.

The day was good with little problems. After all life without problems will be a bore :) As long as you can control yourself in any situation, you can actually enjoy problems. There could be problems which could make your temper bad. The very first thing you should think at that time is "You are going to lose enormous amount of your energy by losing your temper". Instead focus all your energy on the problem, not on the person. A person's behaviour at a time depends on a lot of factors. So it is better to think well and do something rather than thinking after committing a mistake. For every problem comes with an equal or greater opportunity, one should be thankful to the problems he get. Only at times of crisis you will come to know about the true color of others. Be thankful to God for whatever you are. Thank God by being good in whatever you do. He knows what to give to whom and when.

Life is of course a mystery full of puzzles with all clues scattered all around you. You just need to figure out what is the right stuff you need. Automatically things will fall in your hand once you figure out what you need. To stay happy you just need to do what you like. Dont think about what others will think. As long as it does not hurt anyone you can actually do anything humble :)

One more philosophy : If you think bad about a person however he/she good is, it wont matter to you. It is better not to come to a conclusion about a person. Accepting the way what others are is the best way to live a cool life. Because no one can change others. But you can change yourself. You can change the way you think. Starting thinking differently and in all possible ways and coming to a wise decision should be the right turning point to develop personality.

Btw, day was overall good with all these incidens and thoughts.

Signing off now with the following principle of life

"Don't believe in everything what others say"

Sunday, 17th Jan 2010

This is how my last week's sunday went.

Golgonda fort - One of the places which reminds me of my Industrial Visit. It was hyderabad IV, the third IV. It is one of the nicest industrial visits in my college life. I imagine how lovely college life is :) Except for the fact that you can't earn, college life is simply the greenest part of everyone's life :)

This is the second time I went to Golgonda. It is relatively nearer compared to the distance I thought it would be from my home. I reside in Madinaguda. It is on Mumbai National Highway. It was Sunday noon 2 pm and I heard my mobile ringing while I was still on bed enjoying the Sunday sleep. It was a call from a friend asking me whether I could make it to the Golgonda trip that evening. I thought for a while and decided that I could make it as I always wanted to visit as many places as possible. But this decision has once again made me unable to clean my room. I had to go to Toli chow, a place on the way to Mehdipatnam from Gachibowli. There were colleagues waiting after their lunch. Reached Golgonda after a 10 min travel from Toli chowk.

In my Industrial Visit, we guys rocked taking the path through all "No entry" points of Golgonda fort. That time, it was really good to enter "No entry" areas, breaking all rules :) It was fun.

This time it was a fun of different kind. Enjoyed thoroughly though :) Evening six alarmed the arrival of mighty night. Planned to go somewhere else. So we agreed to the plan of going to Landmark, a novelty center in Banjara Hills, but pretty bigger one. Decided to get some books. Bought some and satisfied with the weekend :)

Excerpts from MEGALIVING - Robin Sharma

There is nothing noble about being superior to some other person. The true nobility lies in being superior to your previous self.
- Proverb

When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all of your thoughts break their bonds, your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction and you find yourself in a new great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than your ever dreamed yourself to be.
-Patanjali

There is no such thing as a negative circumstance, only a circumstance that you may learn from. There are no mistakes in life, only lessons which will allow you to grow and advance higher on the path of self-mastery.

Stop being a prisoner of your past - become the architect of your future. Every event happens for a special purpose. Every problem is a special challenge from which we can learn and prosper to new heights of achievement.

There are simply no limits for a person who accepts no limits.

Two States - my views

Two States - a novel by Chetan Bhagat under the Fiction category. This is the fourth novel by the IIT-Delhi, IIM-Ahmedabad pass out, manager turned writer. I remember my friend Ashwin telling about Chetan Bhagat's first book, " Five point someone", in college. I downloaded the e-book, but never read it. "Two States" is the first English novel I have read completely in my life. I went Chennai for x-mas. On returning, it was a 14 hour long train journey. I thought of ways to pass that time well. Reached Chennai Central station one hour prior to the departure time. Went to Higgin Bothams book shop in the station and thought of getting some books. I saw "two states" with Chetan Bhagat's name in the cover page. I had a flurry of excitement from within to buy the book as the subtitle in the cover page read "the story of my marriage". Along with it, I bought "Three mistakes of my life", the third book from the same author.

Started reading the book, even before the train started to leave the station. The very first page of the novel was charming. Since the novel is about the story of author's marriage and since the bride's home town is Chennai, I decided to read it till I would feel asleep :) The narration was fantastic that I laughed well as I read through the book.

I felt angry about the author when he was telling bad (eventhough some of them are facts )about my birth town Chennai. I feel like he should not have written those tamil indecent words in his book. The words in this book were written so correctly that I doubt whether the author is a punjabi :) I wish he should not come to Chennai. What the hell do punjabis think about tamilians ? Just because they are fair-complexioned doesn't mean that they are the best. After all it is not the look that matters, but it is the character. Author's mom referring the bride Ananya to Jayalalitha is absolutely not acceptable. How dare Chetan Bhagat is to use Jayalalitha's name like that !!! (Chetan Bhagat - You better don’t come to Chennai. If you come, it may become your worst trip. I appreciate your writing skills. But don’t dare to come chennai again.)

The world has a great opinion about Indians, specifically to Tamilians, specifically to Brahmins. The things mentioned in the novel about the so called Tamil Brahmin Ananya is 100% obnoxious. She eats chicken, drinks beer, makes love before marriage, kisses a guy in public. My goodness. How dare you wrote like this. It could be a novel. But it should not affect anyone. It should've insulted many in Tamil Nadu I suppose.

The parts of the book where he had written about Citi Bank is depicting real life corporate world. I particularly appreciate some sentences in this book which made me laugh like I have never laughed on reading a book. I am grateful to you, Chetan Bhagat for this. The book is worth the money 95 rupees. Even though it has some disapproving facts, the book is a good time pass to youngsters. I don’t know how old people could think about this book as it has lot of spicy stuff.

Looking forward to another Chetan Bhagat's novel,

Signing off with smile :)
