I remember boarding train on a thursday in Coimbatore. It was June 25,2009 . My brother Ravi accompanied me to railway station. I had just two luggages. A suitcase and a bag of clothes. I got a lower side berth. The train left the station around 5:30 pm. It reached Hyderabad the next day by 1'0 clock at noon. I took an air bus from Secunderabad Junction and got down at Amerpet Image Hospital stop where I am not supposed to get down. I am supposed to get down at Image Hospital-Hi Tec city. This is the first lesson I had in Hyderabad. My immediate senior Sashi Kumar was actually about to take me to the "Silicon Valley" guest house from the bus stop. Since I got down at Amerpet and it's 10 km from Hi Tec city and my senior had to attend a meeting; so he had to go to office. But he sent me a clear message stating the whereabouts of the guest house. I should thank him a lot for all these. The second lesson I had in Hyderabad is "Make hay while the sun shines". I actually had the chance of recharging my mobile phone in train. But I dint use it. And I faced a lot of problem because of that. My cell phone was about to sleep when I was in Amerpet. And you know what. I couldn make a call from Public Call Office at Amerpet since there was no power there that time. All are good lessons. And my friend Shyamala was also trying to call me. I couldn attend it:( She is one of my best friends in this world. My mobile survived till I reached the guest house:) I managed to reach guest house with the message my senior had sent me. Hats off to him. The message he sent was so clear.
The prominent languages in Hyderabad are Telugu and Hindi. If you know Hindi you can manage in and around Mathapur where the Hi Tec city is located. My goodness:) I dont know both the languages. I should have learnt at least Hindi. This is my next lesson.
My mom, Uthirakkani, always insisted me to read dictionary in my school days and some books always. I now realised how powerful those words are. My mom always wanted me to speak English fluently. And to an extent I can speak English fluently. My mom will be the first person to be happy had she been alive now. Hmmm all fate:( Ok lets come to the point. I had to attend the Orientation Programme at HICC(Hyderabad International Convention Center), Novotel on 29th and 30th of June conducted by Deloitte HR. It was the first shock at Deloitte on 29th. There are two offices for Deloitte in H'bad. One at Hi Tec City and the other one at Gachibowli, which is 10 km away from Hi Tec City. I was told that my office will be the one at Gachibowli. I was heart-broken because all the times from my placement I was thinking that I will be at Hi Tec City. I didn't even know that there is an office at Gachibowli!! The other shock is that my best friend Ashwin being shifted to Mumbai office. Thats very paining. We had a plan to stay together at H'bad.
After the splendid two day orientation I went to the Gachibowli office on the third day. It was a wednesday. We had orientation for EAG guys alone at Dhamaal in E-block. The morning session was the ice-cooler session with the managers. It was energising. In the noon session we had the "Inter-personal" skills session at E block itself. That session was so lively and of course we all were very tired in the end of the day. For the next two days we had "Soft Skills" training at D block Anaheim. It was so lively and fun-filled and informative all through the two days. And here started my viral fever on the Thursday ie., 2nd July. I was almost dying with the fever appearing on evenings and leaving me exhausted. I was facing atmost difficulty in the training with the traces of fever and I was shivering in the AC hall. The training for 6th and 7th are SDLC. I had to get permission and take a session off owing to my disability. Thank God. I was given the permission. I lived on fruits during these times. The next three days training are for RDBMS. I was almost feeling like dead and I couldn go to the training on thursday and friday. In the mean time one of my best and great friends Sriram who is in Madhapur who is residing nearby got me an umberalla and jacket to beat the chillness at work place. Unfortunately I couldn attend the training on thursday and friday.
From 6th we EAG people had the training at E block which is our office. And till now it's going on. This is my experience at Hyderabad so far. And I forgot to mention the good people who were helping me when I was not well. First I should thank Mr. Sathasivam. He is a doctor at Saamysettipalayam, Coimbatore. He suggests how to cure diseases naturally by modifying the food habit. He helped me a lot giving me all kind of treatment over phone. And I should thank my akka Malarvizhi. She is an MBBS doctor. She only told me that what I was having was viral fever and it persists for a week or ten days usually. I became a prey to viral fever somehow. And Prema amma is a person who prayed for my well being always. I should thank her. Thank you amma. She is like a mom to me. And one more amma is Sumathi amma. We knew each other from the PCP(Personal Contact Program) held at Aliyar for 5 days for the Diploma in Yoga course undertakers. I am now an BE, DYHE(Diploma in Yoga for Human Excellence) graduate:) Thats it for this post. Pretty long I suppose:) I found myself comfortable writing this now only. It took this much time to settle a little in Hyderabad. Ok let me sign off here. Will come up with different content next time. See you my blog:)
