It has been a hiatus of 2 months from my last visit to my blog. And I am breaking it now.
Just thought I could write a post on three of the recent movies I really enjoyed watching.
1. Vaagai Soodae Vaa
A well directed movie depicting the reality of poor state of needy in the middle of this centenary. Simple and good story. "Sir" (Vimal) wants to become a government teacher per his father's wishes. As a step towards it, teaching to poor students of a distant village through a private organization would help him get a certificate which in turn will help in fetching Govt. job. Rest of the story revolves around how he manages to stay there, educates kids and wins heart of a village girl. Though the movie is pretty well predictable in the first 10 minutes of the movie, the screenplay and direction is good. Practicality is what I like the most in the movie. Worth the time.
2. Engeyum eppothum
An awesome romantic movie. The climax is the first scene. But quite unpredictable ! Story writer knows exactly how he could make people pinned to the seats till the end. Story is very simple and practical too. It is all about two pair of lovers. The first pair is of a Chennai typical city guy and an innocent but brilliant village girl who comes to Chennai in search of a good job. As a first time visitor to the city she takes the help of a stranger (Vimal) in getting her to her sister's home. The guy is decent and manages to help the girl. She falls in love with him. Even he feels the same. But they go apart without knowing the whereabouts of each other !
The second pair - a workshop worker and a nurse ! What a pair :) The way they become lovers is really funny. But practical.
I personally like the first pair. Especially because of cute Ananya :) Her expressions are just awesome.
Though the story has a tragic ending I like the practicality in it. Again a movie worth the watch.
3. Rowthiram
Another heroic movie for Jeeva next to Ko. A good story line and has an awesome song "maalai mangum neram". The story still though is not practical. So I don't like it much. Worth watching once for Jeeva.
Tamil film industry is booming with young intelligent directors. Hoping it to grow healthier :)
